Car paint maintenance waxing, sealing glaze, coating advantages and disadvantages

  • by Benjamin Pan

Everyone talked about the maintenance of car paint, waxing, sealing glaze, coating, etc. These currently common paint beauty items can say some. But what is the difference between them? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Many owners must be confused when they choose.

Differences in product composition and effects

Waxing: The beauty that appeared earlier. The main ingredient of wax is oil. It doesn't feel smooth even if it is touched by hand. It even feels a bit of numbness, and there will be some oily feeling on the hands. Waxing removes dirt on the paint surface and increases brightness.

Sealing glaze: The main component of the glaze is also from oil, and the glaze is pressed into the interior of the paint through a special machine to form a protective layer resembling a mesh, rather than the glaze layer on porcelain similar to many people understand. This kind of protective layer functions as a barrier to ultraviolet rays to some extent, isolates air from oxidation, and reduces acid rain damage to the paint.

Coating: The main component of the film is a material known as glass cellulose. The scientific name is all-silicone-hydrogen alkane. It exists in liquid form during operation and forms a transparent protective layer on the paint surface after curing. , Isolate the damage of the external material to the paint surface, while the protective layer itself has a certain degree of hardness, so it is better for protecting the paint effect.

Differences in operating procedures

The waxing process is relatively simple and the paint can be cleaned after it has been cleaned. The process of sealing the glaze and coating is similar. If the old vehicle needs to be polished in advance (the new car does not require polishing), it is relatively complicated.

Here must say under polishing:

Polishing is the use of polishing agents with abrasive particles to rub against the paint surface with the help of the polisher, to remove dirt from the paint surface, smooth the smooth paint surface, and smooth the surface to refine the surface. Of course, the drawbacks of polishing are also obvious. It is to thin the paint. A normal paint can polish up to about 6-10 times.

Do keep in mind that the new car should not be polished while it is being glazed or coated. A good new car paint transparent layer is wasted on the white and wasted. However, due to the aging of the old model, polishing is an essential part.

Waxing: First clean the car body, then apply the wax on the paint surface in a regular manner. During the smearing process, the dirty particles left by the paint surface can be ground off. Then the wax is wiped clean with a dry cloth, and the entire operation is completed.

Sealing glaze: Sealing glaze and coating need to be washed and polished in advance (new car does not need this step). After polishing is completed, paste-like glaze is pressed into the interior of car paint through a special machine, repeatedly, so that the glaze completely enters the paint.

Coating: The same as the sealing glaze, the first car wash polishing, and then to carry out the degreasing treatment, the so-called degreasing is to polish the part of the polishing agent used in the paint surface of the oily ingredients completely removed to ensure that the coating for the paint surface of the good adsorption . After this step is completed, a liquid film is evenly applied on the surface of the paint, followed by high-temperature baking, and after drying, a transparent and hard protective film is formed.
